Some people love to study genealogies because they want to know about their ancestry. They want to know if they are related to anyone famous or what their genetic makeup might be. But what about our heritage as believers? This class will provide a bird’s eye view of Christianity’s family tree. The tour will begin with the birth of the church in the first century. We will then travel through Medieval and Reformation history to reach our final destination which will be surveying major denominations in America.
Class 1 | The life of Jesus and the ministry of the Apostles (1st Century)
Class 2 | The fluctuating relationship between Christianity and the Roman Empire (2nd-6th Centuries)
Class 3 | Historical highlights during Medieval Christendom (7th-15th Centuries)
Class 4 | The Protestant Reformation and its effects (16th-17th Centuries)
Class 5 | Christianity in early American History (18th-19th Centuries)
Class 6 | Fundamentalists, Evangelicals, and Denominations (20th-Present)
