In the far corner of the US sits the city of Tacoma, Washington. While people in the area describe themselves as “spiritually open,” less than four percent of the population attends any type of church.
Because of your faithful giving to Mission 1:8, we are helping shine a light in a dark area of our country by supporting Bobby and Kelly Higginbotham and The Pathway church, located in an area of Tacoma known of years of crime, economic hardship, and loss of hope. What began as a handful of people has slowly grown into multiple “Intentional Communities” that meet throughout the week to encourage one another and be on mission together in their community. The Lord is radically moving and changing people, one life at a time…
Amber just celebrated three years sober. She was baptized three years ago after Jesus radically saved her from addiction to Meth. Now she is finishing college and has moved into her own apartment with her daughter.
Dan and Desi came to The Pathway while they were living together. Dan wasn’t legally divorced from his first wife. He gave his life to Jesus, owned the mistakes of his past, married Desi, stepped up to the plate with their children, and is growing in his walk with Jesus. He just began meeting with three other guys for discipleship.
Desi was bitter against God, the church, and everything Christian. Now, she has been baptized, is being discipled, is actively discipling her girls, and wants to begin discipling someone else.
Ephraim and Ciarra were believers but came from messy backgrounds that impacted their views of God and church. They began to engage community, increase in their commitment and consistency, and grow spiritually. Ephraim has a heart for guys who struggle with pornography. Now, he is leading the charge to engage the men of The Pathway and start battling this prominent addiction.
You are part of what God is doing to change lives in radical ways because you continue to answer the call to give to Mission 1:8. Thank you for your desire to see our city, nation, and world impacted for Christ.
