Missions

“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18-20

host an international pastor

Once a year, Global Proclamation Academy, an outreach ministry of Dallas Theological Seminary, brings twenty-five key leaders and pastors to Dallas for a three week period of training, spiritual investment, and encouragement. We need First Dallas members to volunteer to host a pastor in their home for the weekends of June 15-16 and June 22-23.

A Virtual Prayer Walk for myanmar

Please pray for those lost in the darkness of Buddhism in Myanmar (formly Burma). Missionary Adoniram Judson labored for years preaching the gospel to this lost people group. Please pray that these people will see the light of Jesus.

Local Missions

We support multiple mission churches in the metroplex with the hope of extending our ministry to local communities to share the gospel of Christ. Twenty-one mission chapels have become autonomous churches. Each year our mission churches and ministries share the gospel with untold numbers of people, and many lives are changed as a result.

The best thing you can do for our mission pastors, churches, and ministries is PRAY!

For more information on any of our churches feel free to contact them directly, or contact our missions office at 214.969.2410 or .

National & International Missions

As a church, we are committed to honoring the Great Commission by partnering with missionaries locally, nationally, and internationally. Our vision is based on the Acts 1:8 model, “You shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

Each year, we support several mission boards and send our own teams to share the gospel and serve in other states and countries. This year, our teams took trips to Alaska and Argentina. Stay tuned for trips in 2013!

Reach360 2012 Recap

Reach360 was a huge blessing this year as First Dallas members partnered with three of our most needy mission churches and their congregations. Over 500 homes were touched with Thanksgiving bags, which included a voucher for a turkey, rice and beans, blankets, and Bibles.

Roughly 200 First Dallas members as well as a few students from the Criswell College divided up among three mission church congregations: El Buen Pastor, El Calvario, and Lake June Baptist Church. Many families we met shared burdens and prayer requests which were prayed over and then shared with the mission churches, which afforded the opportunity to share the gospel. As a result of the outreach, four individuals trusted Christ as their personal Savior, and a number of visitors came this past Sunday to the local congregations.

One congregation adopted a local apartment and visited the 140 units. Afterwards, God led another apartment owner to ask if there was the possibility of doing some outreach at his complex!

Special thanks to James Patterson for his organization of First Dallas volunteers and for our church family for supporting both local and international missions outreach.

Special Story from Reach360

A team of volunteers helping Lake June Baptist visited a lady named Sharon in the apartment complex who was taking care of her four grandchildren. We asked if we could pray for her, and she began to cry. Her mother, Dorothy, is undergoing chemotherapy treatments, and Sharon is very concerned for her. After presenting her with the Reach360 bag we prayed over Sharon, the grandchildren, and for Dorothy.

Before we left her doorway, Sharon asked us to wait a moment, because she had something she wanted to give us. She returned a moment later with a well-worn, five-dollar bill and asked us to give it to Lake June Baptist Church as a thank offering. From her small apartment, while taking care of four grandchildren, and carrying the burden of her own mother’s health, Sharon was able not only to be blessed but also to bless in return for what God provided that morning.

Argentina Mission Trip 2012

From October 18-26, a team of 5 from our church traveled to Argentina to partner with Word of Life Argentina by participating in a construction project at the Born Again Center in Calamuchita, Argentina.

Our team was able to serve by helping pour a foundation and build walls for a dormitory. The building will be used for those who are recovering from substance absuse, as well as for summer camps.

Most of the men who come to the Born Again Center have lost their families as a result of drug and alcohol abuse. Today, they are finding freedom in Jesus Christ and the opportunity to rebuild their lives on the foundation of God's Word. A number of those who serve on staff have come through the same program, seeing lives, relationships, and marriages restored.

The center also has an impact in the community. During the week, our team was able to share the Gospel in homes and plant seeds for a new church in the area.

"In Him, the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. In Him you too are becoming built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit." (Ephesians 2:21-22)
