About our ministry...
The First Dallas Student ministry welcomes teens from all backgrounds and walks of life. We desire to encourage your student to be a Christ follower, worshipper, and a lover of God's word. Your student will always walk away challenged.
Through Biblical, practical teaching, we will help your student grow, equip them with the truth and give them opportunities to share it. Our doors are always open, and we are passionate about pointing your teen to Christ. Ultimately, we desire to know God and make Him known!
For more information contact the Student Ministry at 214.969.2451 or check out First Baptist Dallas Student Ministry on Facebook.
Students meet on Sunday mornings for worship and biblical, practical teaching followed by small groups according to grade and gender. Each group is led by a teacher who is passionate about helping teens know how God wants them to live.
We meet at 9:15am on level 4 of the Horner Family Center (The Loft).
Current Sunday Morning Series
December: Behind the Scene (Christmas Series):We all know the Christmas story and why we take nearly a month out of the year to celebrate it. Right? But do we know everything that went on behind the scenes? Behind the Scene gives students a glimpse behind the nativity scene and into the surrounding circumstances and events that occurred in the Christmas story.
Previous Sunday Morning Series
In Theory (Worldviews): Was the earth really created in seven 24-hour days? What does the Bible say about the theory of evolution? What really happened to the dinosaurs? Science is full of theories about the origins of the universe, earth, and humanity. In Theory allows us to tackle these questions head on with a biblical perspective.
GIRLS NIGHT IN RETREAT
January 10-11 | 6pm-11:30am | The Loft
Seventh through twelfth grade girls are invited to a “Girls Night In” retreat at First Dallas. So many of us have been fooled into believing that the things of this world might bring meaning and satisfaction to our lives, but the Only One who can truly bring lasting fullness to life is Christ.
A slumber party, lots of delicious goodies, as well as large and small group discussions led by Tricia Patterson and Zoom Connection will offer a life changing weekend of fun as we learn to live the life Christ longs for us to have…life to the full.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
February 21-23 | The Loft and Local Homes
Hang out with the student ministry for a fun weekend of discipleship. Have you ever felt that you have too much going on? School, band, sports, work, volunteering, and hours of TV can result in being overcommitted, over-entertained, and spiritually underfed. Are we missing something in the midst of all the clutter? Drive Weekend 2014 is a perfect opportunity for you to "hit pause" on the busyness and distractions of teenage life to refocus on what's really important: a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
Students will stay in church members' homes at night and then spend the day hanging out, hearing from our speaker, and enjoying worship.
Guest Speaker: Jay Lowder
Jay Lowder is a dynamic communicator whose contemporary style enables him to connect with adults and students alike. Jay is a full-time evangelist and is the founder of Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries, an organization dedicated to reaching diverse groups of people with the message of Jesus Christ. Jay developed the nationally acclaimed school assembly, “Crossroads,” which has been presented to two million students nationwide. The program has drawn overwhelming responses from students and parents alike, and has connected Lowder into the vein of the youth culture while providing a catalyst to reach thousands of young men and women. He resides in Wichita Falls, Texas, with his wife, Melissa, whom he married in 1993, and their three children Lane, Kayley Faith, and Graham.
In Concert: Jason Castro
Jason Castro is best known for his captivating run on the nationally broadcasted television show American Idol. More recently, Jason has joined the I Am Second campaign, proving that although he may receive national attention through musical talent, he is not afraid to proclaim his faith in Jesus Christ. Jason's most recent album Only a Mountain contains music he has written and co-written and was released in January 2013. Only a Mountain embodies Jason's outlook on life, "What good can we do today? How can we be a light in the challenging world in which we currently live?"

We were made to be obsessed with God and His call on our lives. Yet we often give our hearts to lesser gods like guys, appearance, popularity, perfection, grades, goals, sports, and even friends. Come and learn to live the life we were created for in Christ and experience the peace and freedom that comes from an obsession with Christ.
