We left at 12:55pm. We should be back at the church between 4pm and 4:30pm.

Friday, August 6 | 10:35am

We have had an amazing week, thank you for praying for us, sending your children with us, and supporting this wonderful Children's Camp ministry.  We have wrapped up all our events and activities, lots of sad kids for the fact that we have to leave!  We had 21 kids come forward during the services with 12 making decisions for Christ!  Lives were changed and kids poured their hearts out to God.  And they had a lot of fun doing it!

We are packing up and getting ready for lunch right now.  We are planning to load the buses at 1:00 pm headed back to Dallas.

We will have one more video to post and lots of pictures when we get back.  In fact we are going to make a DVD project of all our videos and some digital pictures for them to remember their Camp Impact experience.  We will have them available in the Kids Cove area in a couple of weeks.

Put the dates of August 1-5, 2011 on your calendar for Children's Camp 2011.  Same place and all new fun to be had!  We will open up registration January 1, 2011.  More details to follow!

Thank you for the blessing of being to lead your children and to be their children's Pastor.  Our entire staff worked hard to make this an amazing week that will not be forgotten.  I thank them for their dedication, hard work, and support of the ministry - what a TEAM!

Thank you,
Pastor Charlie

Incredible would be the word for our Thursday at Children's Camp Impact 2010!  We had a great day, a little cooler than the day before.  The kids competed with our their hearts in the Extreme Team Challenge to crown the ultimate Champion.  We enjoyed our last day of free time activities.  Then came the evening service, it was extra special to say the least.  Wayne Kerr and the band were amazing, the worship was intense, and you might see pictures soon of myself crowd surfing!

We had an awesome start to worship with Matt and Elizabeth painting the white walls  (ask the kids about it - it was powerful).  Our camp Pastor, Jeremiah, then brought an amazing message of hope through salvation.  We saw many kids respond and many hearts changed.  We then moved outside for the FIRE!  We talked about the sin box (ask the kids again about it) and then saw it become completely consumed - just like our sins are when we ask for forgiveness.  We finished the night celebrating our 6th graders with a pizza/pool party till midnight!

We will be leaving the camp about 1:00 pm and will be back at the church by 4:30.  We will also be posting a ton of pictures from camp soon.

Thank you for allowing me to spend a week with your children, it was so totally an amazing week of camp.

Charlie

Camp Impact has been just that so far and not just for our kids but for our leaders!  We will all come back a little different as we have seen when we let God have His way the IMPACT is huge!   This morning we had a baptism of one our 6th grade girls.  Jenna was saved at about 8 years old and had not been baptized yet.  She felt God telling her to do it here in the lake in front of her friends to be a testimony, so we called her parents and they said "yes".  So during our morning worship time I had the joy of baptizing Jenna here at Camp.

Then when morning worship was over I had a 5th grade boy come tell me he needs to be baptized.  You see he said "my parents are not church goers and if I don't do it here and obey God's calling on my life I may never be baptized".  So we are calling his parents and asking for permission to baptize him tomorrow morning before we leave camp!

These are just a couple of the amazing things God is doing in the lives of campers!

Check back with us tonight for more videos, stories, and pictures (hopefully - signal is hard to find down here sometimes).

Wednesday, August 4 | 11:51pm
Wednesday night was an amazing night.  First it all started with a hot time at Holy Ground - and I mean hot!  But the kids and leaders worship and devoted themselves to find God in their own quiet place.  Then the kids moved into family group time for competition in the Ultimate Team Challenge and they learned how to work together as a team!  Then God moved in our counselors in a mighty way during our counselor meeting.  It was one of those blessing you get because you are at camp.  Seeing those who have served at camp for 21 years share what God was doing in their life with many sitting next to them that have served for about 21 hours was so fantastic to see them draw close together.  There worship service was out of this world and we ended it with a huge dance party and Slime Time Live!  Pictures are sure to follow!  The kids are getting the IMPACT of it all.  They have asked Jesus into their hearts, they have grown closer to Him, they are ready to serve, and they are taking care of the spiritual needs of their friends.

I can't wait to see what God is going to do Thursday.  We have one Baptism planned in Lake Livingston in the morning during our Holy Ground time.  Continue to pray for God to have His way in all our lives while here at camp!

Wednesday, August 4 | 8:48am
Well Camp Impact families, it is Wednesday morning, the sun is shining, breakfast is cooking, and the kids are up and ready for an encounter with Christ this morning.  We will begin our day with Holy Ground Bible study and worship, then the most amazing thing you could ever see is 300 kids and leaders having their personal quiet time in this beautiful wooded area covering Lake Livingston.  WOW!  What a treat to hear the kids sing His praises and then seek His face.

We had an awesome night and are ready for an unbelievable Wednesday.  Still no major issues and lots of fun.  A few sunburns but we are making sure everyone is covered before getting in the sun today.

Continue to pray for us and our kids as we strive to understand so many aspects of the IMPACT of God's love on our life.

Tuesday, August 3 | end-of-day
Our first full day at camp was AWESOME!  Who cares that it's hot when you have so many water activities?!?  Our family groups had their first day of competitions, and Team #8 is currently in the lead!  However...that could all change tomorrow.  We had an amazing night of worship with Wayne Kerr, and Pastor Jeremiah taught us that God cares more about what is on the inside than the outside of us.  To remind us, we all got Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!  (Because the inside is important - get it?)  Oh, how we love camp!!! CHECK BACK SOON FOR A VIDEO UPDATE OF TUESDAY!

Tuesday, August 3 | noon

We are all getting ready for lunch - and the food has been amazing!  We had our first Holy Ground quiet time this morning, worship with Wayne, and a challenge to be like Daniel from Jeremiah.  The teams then competed against each other to win the prize of the Extreme Team Challenge!  We saw many kids come forward Monday night.  God is moving in our kids and they are doing so very well.  Stay tuned as we are trying to get videos updated and pictures posted for you to see.

Pray for our kids and leaders as we make an IMPACT for Christ!

Monday, August 2
Today the kids arrived safely, ate a great meal and got settled into their rooms before heading out to free time, swimming, rock climbing and playing in the lake.  They also met with their family groups and had their first family group game against other family groups.  Great first night of worship with Wayne and Jeremiah, and a few kids have already made decisions for Christ! Everyone is tired, but getting rested  tonight for a great first full day tomorrow.  They will also begin competing as a family tomorrow - hoping for a medal on Friday.  Let the competition begin!
