Small Groups

Reaching OutCelebrate Recovery small groups meet on the 8th floor of Spurgeon Harris from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. every Wednesday night, after Celebrate Recovery (6:30pm-7:15pm, SH802).

Hurts – Habits – Hang-ups: We all have them. We all hurt at times, and have even hurt others as well. We all have habits and hang-ups that hinder our ability to live life to our fullest potential. However, it doesn’t have to be this way any longer. The good news is that you no longer have to be enslaved to these things – there is hope through the greatest Higher Power, Jesus Christ.

"The purposes of Celebrate Recovery are to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 8 Recovery principles. This experience allows us to “be changed.” By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power." – Founder of Celebrate Recovery, Pastor John Baker

Celebrate Recovery offers free childcare for infant-grade six; children 4 years of age through 6th grade are in AWANA.  Dinner may be purchased on the 3rd Floor (CenterStage) from 5-6 p.m. - sandwiches and coffee in Grace Parlor (Criswell Center Lobby) from 5:30-6 p.m.

There is free parking available in the Ross Avenue Garage, Spurgeon Harris Garage, Veal Garage, and the open lot on St. Paul.

 CELEBRATE RECOVERY SMALL GROUPS CAN:

  • Provide you a safe place to share your experiences, strengths and hopes with others who are going through the "Principles" in a Christ-Centered recovery.

  • Provide you a leader who has gone through a similar hurt, hang-up or habit that will facilitate the group as it focuses on a particular Step each week. The leader will also keep Celebrate Recovery's "FIVE RULES."

  • Provide you with the opportunity to find an accountability partner or sponsor.

  • Encourage you to attend other recovery meetings held throughout the week, if available.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY SMALL GROUPS WILL NOT:

    • Attempt to offer any professional clinical advice. Our leaders are not counselors. We will provide you with a list of approved counseling referrals.

    • Allow its members to attempt to "fix" one another.
