The Second Annual Chili Cook-Off: A Red-Hot Success

Article posted January 11, 2010

The First Dallas Music Ministry will rule 2010 as chili royalty after winning the second annual Chili Cook-Off on Sunday night, January 10.

Adult Choir member Linda Lott cooked the musicians to success, edging out Forerunners Ministry’s Carol Beshears, second place, and Singles Ministry’s Sherrie Koerner, who took third.

Even though the competition was red-hot, the evening’s fellowship made everyone a winner.

“It was an incredible time of food, fun and fellowship, and to see the culinary genius of our chili cook-off contestants,” Young Marrieds Minister Brandon Watson said.

The Chili Cook-Off capped off a busy Sunday at First Dallas. In the morning service, Dr. Jeffress kick-off a new sermon series “Living Your Dreams: A Study of Nehemiah.” In the evening service, he resumed the year-long, verse-by-verse study of Revelation.  Additionally, the children and student music programs resumed after their holiday break.
