Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Names Dr. Jeffress "Distinguished Alumnus of the Year"
SBTS will present the "Distinguished Alumnus of the Year" award to Dr. Jeffress at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Alumni and Friends Luncheon of Southwestern Seminary in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday, June 15.
In a letter written to inform Dr. Jeffress of the award, SBTS President Paige Patterson wrote, “Dr. Jeffress, you have distinguished yourself and therefore brought great honor to the institution of which you are a graduate, as you have served the Lord in various pastorates, including your present tenure as pastor of the historic First Baptist Church of Dallas. You have further distinguished yourself through the writing of multiple books and through the stand that you have taken in your preaching ministry on many difficult issues where lesser men have failed at the task.”
