Salvation, Satisfaction Come from the Lord, First-time Guest Discovers
Rustin R. spent many years buying into the false promises of the world.
With a successful career, his choice of women, luxury vehicles, and death-defying adventures, and an abundance of alcohol, Rustin looked to most as if he had it all. But deep down he knew something was missing. His sister, Lynnie, knew it too.
In May, sensing despair in Rustin’s voice, Lynnie overnighted him some sermon CDs of a popular pastor who, at the end of each message, encouraged listeners to get involved in a local, Bible-based church.
On Sunday, June 19, Rustin came to First Baptist Dallas with a business partner. That same day, Rustin gave his life to Christ, knowing in his heart not only that salvation comes from the Lord, but satisfaction as well.
“Without hesitation I came forward to Dr. Jeffress in tears. I wanted to change,” Rustin said. “Throughout my years of running, I had no interest in God, Jesus, church, or any talk of spirituality, but suddenly it was something I’d go any length to get.”
Rustin made his faith public through baptism the following Sunday, and is now actively involved and serving in the Acts 2:42 Sunday school class.
“My life has a purpose,” Rustin said. “That fact has become undeniable in these last few months.”
When you give to the church’s general ministry budget, you can take joy in stories like Rustin’s, knowing that God used your loving sacrifice to change someone’s eternity.
Help us finish the budget year strong. Please send in all tithes and offerings by September 30.
