Meet New Staff Member Michael Volbeda
Michael joins the team of Walter Guillaume as Assistant to the Executive Pastor for Special Projects, but will first serve our church as the interim minister to young marrieds.
Taught the value of serving the church by his father, a church organist, and mother, a church nursery director, it’s no surprise that in the six short years Michael Volbeda has been at First Baptist Church Dallas he’s faithfully served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and Pastor’s Prayer Partner.
It’s also no surprise, after hearing Michael talk about the past, present and future of First Baptist Dallas, that volunteering wasn’t enough for him – he wanted to invest in his church full-time.
“This is a unique and exciting time in our church’s history. The signs of God’s activity are everywhere and it is such a privilege to be a part of that in some small way,” said Michael. “I look forward to working with our executive pastor, Walter Guillaume, as we plan for that day when we open the doors of the new building and begin a new era of ministry to the city of Dallas.”
Before joining the staff at First Dallas, Michael worked in the commercial real estate and finance industries. He earned his undergrad degree from Biola University in Los Angeles, Calif., and received his Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Amber, who is a lifelong member of First Baptist Dallas, have two children, Audrey and Trinon.
