First Baptist Dallas Kids are Pumped Up
He stops airplanes. He bends steel. He rolls cast iron.
He is Dennis Rogers, and he is coming to KidsCove.
On October 25, as a part the Friend Day activities, the kids of First Dallas will join the estimated 300 million people who have witnessed Rogers’ performances, either through television or live shows.
In addition to performing feats of strength—rolling a skillet and bending iron into a pretzel—he will also share the gospel message.
“The feats of strength are a great tool to get people’s attention, so I can then deliver a life changing message,” Rogers said.
Rogers, who entered high school at 4’11” and 79 pounds, didn’t set out to become the most seen strength performer in history.
“I got picked on all the time, so I ate as much as I could and worked out hoping I’d get bigger. I just wanted to fit in,” Rogers said. “By the time I was in 11th grade I weighed 88 pounds. I found out God has a sense of humor.”
He also found out God had a unique plan for his life—a plan to glorify Him with strong muscles and an even stronger message.
The elementary-age child who brings the most guests on Friend Day will win a limo ride on November 7 to the Magic Time Machine, an entertaining restaurant for kids and families.
And that's not all - For our preschoolers, Nana Puddin' performer, storyteller and ventriloquist, Nancy Worcester, brings laughter, learning and love on Friend Day. Click HERE for a clip from one of Nancy's recent shows.
“Friend Day is going to be a great day for First Baptist Dallas, especially the kids,” McAllister said. “The kids—and adults—can hardly wait for it to come.”
