Dr. Jeffress Launches Exciting Evangelistic Effort
God calls Christians to make disciples of all men – to share the Good News to the ends of the earth. God calls the church to equip Christians to do so. That’s where “Pastor’s Light Force” comes in.
Starting September 19, Pastor’s Light Force will provide a five-week discipleship-training course to all interested church members; Dr. Jeffress asking for at least 400 to take part in the training.
“Imagine,” Dr. Jeffress told the congregation Sunday, “if 400 people from our church congregation would commit to trying to lead two people to faith in Christ between now and April 17?”
April 17 marks a great evangelistic opportunity to bring non-Christian friends to, as First Dallas welcomes Lee Strobel, former atheist and legal editor of the Chicago Tribune who, after his conversion to Christianity, authored the bestseller “The Case for Christ.” Another evangelistic opportunity for those involved in Pastor’s Light Force – November 7 with Josh Hamilton, Texas Rangers outfielder whose dramatic struggle with addiction and return to sobriety were features on The Learning Channel’s “The Real Deal.”
“’Equipping’ means more than supplying our members with sermons,” Dr. Jeffress said, when speaking about the importance of Pastor’s Light Force. “We need to give our members a plan for being a witness for Christ. We need to train them in personal evangelism. We need to give them a vision for what their lives could be like. We need to put good models in front of them of people who are already doing this. And we need to provide quality events to which they can invite non-Christians.”
The actual discipleship training days for Pastor’s Light Force are as follows: September 19, September 26, October 3, October 10 and October 17.
