Deacons Unanimously Approve
Members of the Deacon Fellowship stood in approval of the proposed re-created campus of First Baptist Dallas, Tuesday, October 20, with a unanimous vote to move forward with the capital campaign.
“I am 100 percent certain that this is God’s will for our church," Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Dallas said.
The First Baptist Dallas Planning and Development Committee, lead by Chairman Mark Lovvorn, dedicated the past year-and-a-half to discussing the needs of the church campus both presently and in the future, drawing inspiration and ideas from churches and venues including Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Ga., the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
“At a time when downtown is going through a period of revitalization, this new campus will emphasize our role as a spiritual oasis within Dallas and stand out as a true testament to God,” Lovvorn said.
