Contemplative, Copacetic Music, and Coffee This “Friday Unplugged”
Music-lovers of all ages and stages can appreciate the thoughtful, honest lyrics, finger-style guitar playing and Christian, humanitarian heart of Friday Unplugged Guest Artist Jim Cole, whose six albums have garnered six top-three radio singles and evoked an outpouring of emotions from listeners.
According to fans, “his lyrics ply into the darkest and brightest corners of [the listener’s life] with honesty and grace. Cole willingly explores the ineffable presence of God in his own life, and challenges [listeners] to do the same.”
Outside of his music career, which takes him all over the world, including Lithuania, where he taught songwriting and guitar performance to students from all over Easter Europe, another passion of Jim’s is working with the United Methodist Counsel on Relief (UMCOR), raising funds for the humanitarian effort that is ongoing in the Darfur region of the Sudan. Most recently, he has become active in a prison ministry with death row inmates, as a spiritual advisor.
“Jim Cole’s music is acoustic, warm, and captivating. It is pure and simple, but very poignant,” Bill Gaither said. “I think you’ll really like Jim. He is a modern-day troubadour with the heart of a poet. He is a highly skilled, honest artist.”
Friday, June 25 at 7:30pm in CenterStage First Baptist Dallas invites all college, singles, young married and median adults to “unwind and unplug” with the inspirational and introspective tunes of Jim Cole while enjoying an unlimited supply of catered gourmet espresso and coffee beverages.
