... And You Thought the Beach Was the Most Beautiful Thing in Florida
Beach Camp Re-Cap from Student Minister Jeremiah Ramer: It was an incredible week in every way. God moved and worked in the hearts of our students as well as the adults who so unselfishly gave a week of their vacation time to serve our teenagers. The Beach Camp theme was “connection” and the camp speakers drove home the idea of our connection to the world around us and challenged us with how we will introduce Jesus into those connections. The greatest connection obviously is the one that each of us has with our Creator and the one who is the Creator of the entire universe and everything in it. The beach helped inspire our students to begin to think about the majesty and power of our God as they looked out over a scene that only God is creative enough to have built.
At the end of the day though, all of the excitement, the frills, even the beach fun that we got to have boil down to what God did in the hearts of our students at Beach Camp. Five students who chose to follow Jesus during Beach Camp were baptized right there in the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday afternoon! Countless other students and leaders encountered Jesus like they never have before and will be forever changed by what he has done for us!
