Special Friends Chapel

At a Glance

Special Friends is a ministry of First Baptist Dallas benefiting the mentally handicapped. The group meets at First Baptist Dallas on the first floor in the Spurgeon Harris building on the corner of Akard and Patterson streets. Sunday school starts at 9:30am, and chapel service begins at 11 o’clock.

A Special Friends service includes lively singing, praise chorus, and traditional hymns for musical worship. In addition, prayer requests are taken, and there is a short message, often including a video presentation.

Special Friends is noticeably one of the largest Christian ministries in the Dallas area available for the mentally handicapped, averaging about 125 to 150 people on Sundays.
