Missions
First Dallas has missionaries who serve locally, nationally, and internationally. Their vision is based on an Acts 1:8 model, and their enthusiasm is in honoring the Great Commission (Matt. 28:16-20). The doors of First Baptist Dallas remain open, yet there are many in need who can’t make the trek to 1707 San Jacinto in Dallas, Texas. Our hope is to go to them.

Reach 360
Tears of joy, thankful hearts, and an overwhelming sense of God’s presence and provision – shared experiences for both the less-fortunate families who received Reach 360 bags and the volunteers who distributed them, Saturday, November 12, 2011.
Louis Williams, a volunteer from First Dallas, tried, through tears, to put his experience into words:
“This was the first time I’d ever done anything like this and it felt awesome. Capital AWESOME. To see God’s spirit come through me to bless these people, and then come back to me tripled, was a major blessing.”
Hundreds of volunteers, like Louis, infiltrated the neighborhoods surrounding three of our mission churches – El Calvario, El Buen Pastor and Lake June Baptist Church – with a single goal: to share the love of Christ.
The love flowed through several outlets that day. Less-fortunate families received a bag full of Thanksgiving dinner fixings and a certificate for a turkey right before payday, thanks to the generosity of First Dallas members, as well as a Bible and blankets, an invitation to attend their local mission church, and prayer with the volunteer who gave them their bag. Several prayed to receive Christ.
“I felt really encouraged to see my church being a forerunner to help these other Dallas mission churches thrive,” said Volunteer Jose Garza. “Just to know I was a part of a bigger community … that my small contribution was a part of something bigger than myself, bigger than First Baptist Dallas – that was awesome.”
Though the Reach360 set its original goal at 360 bags, First Dallas members filled 419, giving us the chance to not only bless our mission churches with extras, but to bless our entire housekeeping staff, and several single moms.
