Downtown Ministries

The Downtown Ministry exists to serve the residents and business commuters of downtown Dallas.

At present, downtown is seeing a significant resurgence in commercial and residential construction. And in God's perfect plan, the opening of First Baptist's new $48 million building, the Criswell Center, exactly coincides with this rebirth. The Criswell Center's location offers substantial ministry opportunity, being positioned within the downtown business district and immediately adjacent to the flourishing arts district. The Downtown Ministry will utilize the Criswell Center to minister to those who live and work in the downtown community.

The heart of the Downtown Ministry is found in bringing life to the city through authentic, genuine community. It desires to connect and unite people in love, rather than being "too holy" and thus cut off from community. Its approach is to be both available and proactive in cultural affairs, but not so far as religious abrasiveness.

EVENTS

First Baptist Dallas is quite a large church and has numerous ministries who oversee scores of peripheral service efforts. In an attempt to unite the church body, the Downtown Ministry is partnering with fellow First Baptist ministries to host events that spread Christ's love to the Dallas area community.
